Mexican-American Dream Scholarship

Since 2008, COFEM and its affiliated federations, as well as sponsoring partners, have come together to provide scholarships to outstanding students . These scholarships have helped more than 400 students to complete their higher education.

In recent years, the program has set aside over $400,000 for students who are immigrants, sons and daughters of immigrants, and AB-540 or DACA students pursuing their dream of completing a higher education degree.

Each year in the fall, COFEM invites AB-540/DACA students, or students who are members of a COFEM-affiliated federation or club, to apply for its scholarships. Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a four-year accredited University or a two-year program at a Community College. Through a fundraising and matching collaborative, this scholarship program seeks to award scholarships of $500 to Community College students and $1,000 to undergraduate students attending four-year colleges or universities.

Due to COVID-19, COFEM's scholarship program will have to be changed for the 2020-2021 school cycle. We are not sure at the moment what these changes will look like, but we will continue to post updates.  The scholarship program is very important to us and we are working to ensure we are able to continue supporting students in their pursuit of a higher education.

Thank you for you understanding!

Become a Sponsor
Since 2008, with the intention of supporting brilliant students economically disadvantaged, COFEM created the “Sueño Mexico-Americano” program.
The purpose of this scholarship is to promote the importance of superior education among COFEM members and AB 540 students, usually called “dreamers”. Most of the scholarships given to date have been for “dreamers”, which are the perfect example of how important it is to get involved in the American society. With this in mind we invite those to the unique opportunity to sponsor such hardworking students through donations that will directly impact students' educational experience.
